American movie director Michael Stoddard Laughlin has died aged 83.
Among his films were two genre pieces: the 1981 horror movie Strange Behavior, which was seized during the video nasty panic in the UK although not prosecuted; and its thematic sequel Strange Invaders from 1983, which both paid homage to and spoofed Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A third movie to complete the trilogy was never made. Strange Invaders won both a Saturn Award and a Razzie.
