Hulu has appointed Rob Savage to direct an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story The Boogeyman.

The script is by Mark Heyman (Black Swan) based on Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place) and Akela Cooper’s original draft, according to Deadline. The original short story appeared in Cavalier magazine and was collected in Night Shift. The movie is described thus: “still reeling from the tragic death of their mother, a teenage girl and her little brother find themselves plagued by a sadistic presence in their house and struggle to get their grieving father to pay attention before it’s too late.”
