Vonda N. McIntyre’s tale The Moon and the Sun is coming to the big screen with Pierce Brosnan, William Hurt, Kaya Scodelario, Benjamin Walker, Rachel Griffiths, Pablo Schreiber, and Bingbing Fan starring in The King’s Daughter.

The movie will be narrated by Julie Andrews. It follows King Louis XIV (Brosnan), whose quest for immortality leads him to capture a mermaid’s (Fan) life force, seeing his immovable will challenged when his long-hidden illegitimate daughter (Scodelario) forms a bond with the magical creature.

It’s directed by Sean McNamara. “Romance, adventure, and true love really do exist with Kaya Scodelario (Marie Joseph) and Benjamin Walker (Yves),” he commented. “In fact, after making this movie they fell in love in real life and started a wonderful family.
