As they’ve been hinting recently, Reeltime’s major project for 2022 will be Doctor on Display, a history of the classic Doctor Who exhibitions.

Each episode will focus on one major exhibition … Blackpool 1, Blackpool 2, Longleat, Llangollen and the Classic Sci-Fi Museum.

Hosted by Sophie Aldred and directed by Roger Stevens, the series will feature expert opinion from the likes of Bedwyr Gullidge, Alex Storer, John Collier and Neil Cole, plus fans’ memories, rare video and photographic material  – as well as some of Reeltime’s own archive!

“I’m absolutely delighted that we’re making this series,” Keith Barnfather told Sci-Fi Bulletin.  “I grew up visiting the Doctor Who Exhibitions, they were a highlight every year. So to finally put them in the spotlight and give them the respect and credit they deserve fills me with pride! It’s great to have Sophie Aldred as presenter and Roger Stevens as director again on another Reeltime production!”

The first episode in this landmark series will be released in Spring 2022 and will celebrate the official reopening of The Classic Sci-Fi Museum this November. It will feature unseen and unique video footage shot by creator and curator Neil Cole, plus footage of the opening day celebrations with Sophie Aldred!

And Reeltime are asking for SFB readers’ help: “If you visited any of the museums, took photographs or videos, bought one of the props that used to be on display and/or have memories you want to share – PLEASE CONTACT producer Keith Barnfather via Facebook or at keith@reeltimepictures.co.uk.”
