The first third of the final season of The Walking Dead is now complete – but did we go into the break till February with a strong conclusion?

This doesn’t quite work, and it’s for really interesting, challenging reasons. The vast majority of the episode is great because it continues to embody what the show does best. Every moment that lands here comes from character.
