American stuntman Bob Herron has died aged 97.
In a long career – Variety notes he has 342 credits but appeared in many more productions – Herron worked on multiple genre shows and films, including Sean Connery’s last official 007 outing, Diamonds are Forever, and doubled Jeffrey Hunter in the original pilot for Star Trek.
Other stunt work included the original The Absent Minded Professor, I Dream of Jeannie, The Man from UNCLE, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Mission: Impossible, The Green Hornet, Batman, In Like Flint, The Girl From UNCLE, 32 episodes of The Wild Wild West, Get Smart, Soylent Green, Earthquake and its TV movie homage “The Day the Earth Moved”, Death Race 2000, Doc Savage, Logan’s Run, The Six Million Dollar Man, Wonder Woman, The Black Hole, The Sword and the Sorcerer, Poltergeist and Poltergeist II, Knight Rider, Frankenweenie, The Goonies, Weird Science, multiple episodes of Airwolf doubling Ernest Borgnine as he had in The Black Hole, Howard the Duck, Tales from the Crypt, They Came from Outer Space, True Lies, Batman Forever, Buffy.
