Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Ginger Gonzaga will be starring opposite Steve Howey in the long gestating True Lies TV pilot at CBS.

Variety broke the news that the She-Hulk star will be playing the equivalent of the Jamie Lee Curtis role in the James Cameron original movie. She is Harry’s “supportive wife, mother of two teenage kids and a linguistics professor who is getting annoyed by Harry’s constant business trips away from home. Increasingly angered, she feels as if she’s been robbed of the life she once envisioned for herself. Thrilled when Harry invites her along for a trip to Paris, Helen is in for a rude shock when she sees a very different side to her husband, learning that he is in fact a world-class spy.”

Omar Miller, Erica Hernandez, and Mike O’Gorman have also joined the cast, with Miller as Gib, the logistics guy for the group; Hernandez as Maria, “a cool-headed, first class spy” and O’Gorman as Luther, another undercover operative alongside Harry.

Matt Nix has penned the pilot with Anthony Hemingway directing.
