American character actor Willie Garson has died at the age of 57.

Although best known for his role on Sex and the City (for which he was filming the follow-up series), Garson appeared in numerous genre productions over his career. These included the original Twin Peaks, Quantum Leap (as Lee Harvey Oswald), Groundhog Day, Touched by an Angel, Buffy, Star Trek: Voyager, Early Edition, The X-Files, Special Unit 2, Stargate SG-1, Wizards of Waverley Place, Medium, Salvation and Supergirl.
