Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

It seems as if Howard Shore’s sojourn in Middle-earth isn’t complete yet, with news that he is in discussions to score Amazon’s new Lord of the Rings series.

Deadline broke the news that the composer of all three Lord of the Rings movies and the Hobbit trilogy would potentially be returning. The series, showrun by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, is set thousands of years before the events of those movies, and it will be interesting to see if Shore chooses to (or is allowed to) use some of the same thematic material.
