British actor Stephen Critchlow has died aged 54.

In a wide and varied career he appeared in many genre audio productions, including the BBC Radio 4 Torchwood play Lost Souls, dozens of Big Finish productions, and various Doctor Who and Star Wars projects.

On screen he played Professor Lidenbrock in the 2017 Journey to the Centre of the Earth, was Captain Herring in Red Dwarf, and played William Cave in The Infinite Worlds of HG Wells.
