Disney+ is rebooting Flight of the Navigator with Bryce Dallas Howard set to direct and produce.
The new version would feature a female lead but is expected to follow the same pattern of a child who travels into the future and has adventures with an alien spaceship. The original 1986 film was directed by Randal Kleiser (who talks about it to Sci-Fi Bulletin here). Michael Burton and Phil Joanou wrote the original screenplay.
