Shang-Chi star Simu Liu will lead the English language voice cast for Netflix’s anime Bright: Samurai Soul out on October 12.

The film is  set in the same universe as the 2017 live action movie Bright, but in a different time period and setting.

Set in Japan during the end of the Shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji period, the film will follow a one-eyed, wandering samurai named Izo (Liu) and an orc named Raiden (Fred Mancuso), as they work to bring a young elf girl (Yuzu Harada) and the wand she carries to the land of the elves in the north.

Kyohei Ishiguro directed, from a script by Michiko Yokote.
