This could be a completely new pilot, or a spin-off from Doom Patrol but either way Neil Gaiman’s Dead Boy Detectives are being prepared for their own pilot by HBO Max.

Variety broke the news that Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, the ghosts of two young boys who, rather than enter the afterlife, choose to stay on Earth to investigate supernatural crimes are getting their own adventures. Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant are playing the roles in a third season episode of Doom Patrol, but it’s unclear if this is anything beyond coincidence.

The pilot is being developed by  Steve Yockey, Jeremy Carver, and Greg Berlanti. The characters first appeared in Sandman in 1991.
