Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Searchlight Pictures has released a new trailer for the UK horror movie The Night House arriving in the US on August 20.

The movie, which feels reminiscent of Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story is written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski and directed by David Bruckner. It stars Rebecca Hall, Sarah Goldberg and Evan Jonigkeit.

Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep together—but then the dreams come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house call to her, beckoning with a ghostly allure. Against the advice of her friends, she begins digging into her husband’s belongings, yearning for answers. What she finds are secrets both strange and terrible and a mystery she’s determined to resolve.
