Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower is heading to the big screen, courtesy of A24.
Time’s Garrett Bradley will be directing the movie, based on Butler’s 1993 novel about a near-future Los Angeles devastated by societal collapse, a teenager with a unique gift must lead humanity in a battle against extinction, according to Deadline. The book was followed by a sequel, Parable of the Talents. The book has previously been adapted as a graphic novel, and as a musical.
