The latest reboot of the Saint at Paramount seems to have changed direction, with news that Regé-Jean Page is going to star and executive produce a new version of the character created by Leslie Charteris.

THR broke the news that the Bridgerton star would take over the role of Simon Templar; previous reports had suggested that Dexter Fletcher was producing a version with Chris Pine as the Saint. Kwame Kwei-Armah is writing a new version of the script.

Previous screen Saints have included George Sanders, Roger Moore, Ian Ogilvy and Val Kilmer, with a recent TV version starring Adam Rayner now playing on Netflix.
