Victoria Cartagena is joining another show in the Batman universe – to play a variant of Renee Montoya, the character she played on Gotham.

Cartagena is part of the cast joining Batwoman for its third series. In this incarnation, Montoya is a former policewoman who left the GCPD because of the corruption. Described as “righteous and pragmatic, and LGBTQ+”, she now heads the “freaks division” (although that would seem to imply she’s still on the force…) and is “a woman with a very personal (and mysterious) mission to help clean the streets of Gotham in the right way, by whatever means necessary.”
