Jackie Lane, who played the First Doctor’s companion Dodo Chaplet, has died aged 79.

Lane joined the show in 1966 at the end of The Massacre. and appeared alongside Peter Purves before being written out off screen in The War Machines. Unlike many others, did not reprise the role in later years. She went on to become an agent, representing, among others, Tom Baker and Janet Fielding.
