Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

At the Annecy International Film Festival, Netflix producers revealed details on the Witcher and Millarworld anime series.

The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf  will be a prequel explaining “what it takes to become a witcher,” according to showrunner Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich. Also described as “a Gothic romance with a ton of action” the film deals with how Geralt (Henry Cavill in the main series) learns the things that he’s going to teach Ciri as well as going into more detail on the background of the witchers and their world.

The new Millarworld series Super Crooks is about eight super villains and will comprise 13 episodes to be directed by Motonobu Hori. According to Deadline, Hori used the following words to describe the series: “vulgar”, “violent”, “humour” and “modern”

A new modern take on the Brothers Grimm tales is also in preparation with character design by all-female manga artist group CLAMP
