The Black Lightning spin-off Painkiller has not got a series order at the CW.
It’s not the only show that failed to get a green light – Powerpuff, based on The Powerpuff Girls, won’t be proceeding in its current form, although it may be retooled.
It’s not yet been decided if Painkiller might head over to HBO Max, where a number of DC series are in production.
The series finale of Black Lightning airs tonight in the US.
