Travis Knight, who directed the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, is on board to helm vampire thriller Uprising for Netflix.

The movie is based on the novel  A People’s History of the Vampire Uprising by Raymond A. Villareal, set after a global viral outbreak turns people into vampires and follows CIA agent Lauren Webb, who works against the clock to uncover the truth behind a growing uprising that threatens to wipe out humanity.

Deadline is reporting that Jeremy Slater penned the most recent draft of the script.
