American sports star turned actor Frank McRae – best known for his role as Sharkey in the 007 film Licence to Kill – has died aged 80.

After a successful career as a professional football player, McRae turned to acting, and was frequently cast as the heavy. His other genre work include Wonder Woman, Spielberg’s 1941, the 1985 Twilight Zone, the TV movie Asteroid and the horror G-Men From Hell.
