Various different aspects of the filmmaking business have been celebrating their art over the past few days, and once again, genre movies and shows have been recognised.

The Mandalorian – and usually specifically Chapter 13: The Jedi – received multiple awards, including the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC – Best Half Hour Episode). Episode 2: The Child won similar at the Cinema Audio Society (CAS). Episode 13 won two separate Golden Reel Awards from the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) – for dialogue/ADR and sound effects/foley. It won an Annie for Best Character Animation – live action.

Soul also was highly recognised, with the CAS awarding it Best Animated Motion Picture, and the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and MPSE doing the same. At the Annie awards, Soul won Best Feature, Best Effects for Feature, Best Character Animation (Feature), Best Music (Feature), Best Storyboarding (Feature), Best Writing (Feature) and Best Editorial (Feature).

Wolfwalkers won assorted Annies, including Best Indie Feature, Best Character Design (Feature), Best Direction (Feature), Best Production Design (Feature), and Best Voice Acting (Feature)

The ASC also recognised Motherland: Fort Salem for the episode Up is Down.

The ACE gave best edited comedy feature film to Palm Springs

The MPSE gave Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – underscore – to Tenet, and the Golden Reel Award for live action under 35″ to Servant’s 2:00 episode.

Star Trek: Picard also won a Gold Reel Award, tied with The Queen’s Gambit, for effects/foley for the season finale. They also recognised A Christmas Carol, and Mortal Kombat Legends.

Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous won an Annie Award for Best Effects for TV/Media. The Clone Wars won an Annie for its music in Victory and Death,
