And these equations have had plenty of time to get cold – we’re finally catching up with the Treklit account of the 2380s with David Mack’s opener in his Cold Equations trilogy

This is a pretty good jumping on point as well for the novels – through the reminiscences we’re reminded of everything that’s happened since Nemesis (particularly the Borg invasion and the consequent rise of the Typhon Pact).
