Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Previously unseen poster artwork from Star Wars as well as Aliens and The Black Hole will feature in Prop Store’s auction next week.

The auction features over 490 lots, including a collection of over 200 posters and artwork from the archive of award-winning creative agency, Feref, including original transparencies, negatives, and one-of-a-kind prints.  The collection includes over 30 Star Wars lots which highlight some previously unseen designs by artists Eddie Paul and Josh Kirby

Many lots include one-of-a-kind Feref Proof Prints to showcase these unique pieces, including Walter Hill’s The Knight – an unmade movie that features stunning fantasy artwork, plus many more from an incredible line-up of movie poster talent

The auction is taking place on Thursday 22nd April 2021 – bids can be placed online and by telephone from anywhere in the world

Mark Hochman, Prop Store’s Poster Consultant, commented on the upcoming auction – “The Feref Archive Collection is an extensive selection of images from one of Great Britain’s leading media advertising agencies, in the form of exclusive Signed Proof Prints, Colour Transparencies, Negatives and Production Photographs, some familiar; “Flash Gordon” and “Big Trouble in Little China” and some only being seen for the first time by the public; “Get Carter”, “Top Gun”, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” amongst many. They provide an incredible in depth look at the behind-the-scenes workings and machinations that is involved in bringing a film poster to life and provide a unique opportunity to own a piece of cinematic history.”

·         Original Negative with 1 of 1 Proof Print, 2021 from STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980). Estimate £200 – £300 ($274 – 41)

·         Original Negative with 1 of 1 Proof Print, 2021 from STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983). Estimate £200 – £300 ($274 – 412)

·         Original Transparencies and Negative with 1 of 1 Proof Print, 2021 from THE KNIGHT (1980s). Estimate £100 – £200 ($137- 274)

·         Original Transparency with 1 of 1 Proof Print, 2021 from WARGAMES (1983). Estimate £100 – £200 ($137 – 274)
