Stuart McDonald, who directed the Doctor Who/EastEnders crossover Dimensions in Time as part of his duties on Children in Need, has died following a car crash.

He oversaw the 1993 short episodes that saw multiple Doctors return to the role, including Jon Pertwee for the final time on screen.

In addition to his directing work on multiple game shows, McDonald was also the voice of the BBC’s Robot Wars.
