Amanda Bridgeman’s novel The Subjugate – the first of her trilogy from Angry Robot books – is heading to the small screen.
The US’ Anonymous Content is working with Australia’s Aquarius Films for the futuristic crime series. The first book follows two detectives as they try to find a murderer in a community that has turned its back on technology.
“Amanda has created an incredibly complex world that examines the bonds between good and evil and what happens when the lines between the two are blurred,” said Anonymous’ Luke Rivett and Ryan Cunningham.
“ ‘The Subjugate’ explores topical themes of rehabilitation, recidivism and advancing technology in a captivating near-future science fiction thriller and is perfect raw material for a compelling TV series,” added Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford.
