Director Christopher Smith’s movie The Banishing is out now from Vertigo Releasing – and coming to Shudder next week. We chatted with him about the Borley Rectory based tale.
What was the biggest challenge for you in directing this?
Without a shadow of a doubt, it was a smaller budget than I’d ever worked with. We had the money to make this the way we wanted to make it but for a set price, and I’d come off the back of doing some big TV like Alex Rider where it was like ‘Get the Steadicam out!’
