Oscar nominee and WGA award winner Emerald Fennell is writing the script for a feature film of Zatanna for Bad Robot and Warner Bros.

The DC character, a stage and real magician, was created by Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson, first appearing in Hawkman in November 1964. Zatanna is the daughter of Zatara, and has links with Batman and John Constantine. Serinda Swan played the character on Smallville.
