HBO are continuing to work on further adventures in the worlds created by George RR Martin in his Song of Fire and Ice, following the global success of Game of Thrones.

9 Voyages – also referred to as Sea Snake – is the most advanced, with Gotham and Pennyworth’s Bruno Heller involved in development alongside Martin, according to Deadline. This would centre around Lord Corlys Velaryon, a.k.a. The Sea Snake, the Lord of the Tides and head of House Velaryon (who is being played by Steve Toussaint in the one definite spin-off, House of the Dragon). The voyages traverse the world, visiting fabled lands as well as the frozen north.

The second series would be set in the slum district of Flea Bottom, part of King’s Landing, which appeared in the first four seasons of Game of Thrones, and could potentially include some of the previously seen characters from the original show.

The third series would focus on Princess Nymeria and the surviving members of the Rhoynars, who travelled from Essos to Dorne following their defeat by the Valyrian Freehold in the Second Spice War (Nymeria was who Arya Stark named her direwolf after). This journey in 10,000 Ships, took place around a millennium before the events of Game of Thrones.

HBO’s Casey Bloys confirmed earlier this year that other shows were at various stages of development, telling Deadline, “The good news with the prequels is that there is history that George has laid out. We are working with George, it would really be something we talk about with him but for right now, the prequels land themselves to it because of the really expansive history that George laid out in his world.”

Bloys similarly told The Hollywood Reporter, “I prefer to make it about the stories and the showrunners and their vision as opposed to hitting some arbitrary target for the right number of shows.”
