Space 1999 had some issues in its scripting, not least the mix of characterisation for the lead characters. The third episode of the Big Finish retelling tackles an early TV episode:

Roland Moore and script editor Nicholas Briggs have taken the original beats and woven a tale that’s far truer to the characters – indeed their version would have played much better with Landau, Bain and co.
