Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Netflix and Skydance are working on an anime version of The Terminator.

The Batman and Project Power’s Mattson Tomlin will be showrunner. There’s no indication yet whether it will be establishing yet another timeline or working within one of the many already existing.

“Anyone who knows my writing knows I believe in taking big swings and going for the heart,” said Tomlin in a statement. “I’m honoured that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks conventions, subverts expectations and has real guts.”

Said Netflix’s VP of Japan and anime, John Derderian: “Terminator is one of the most iconic sci-fi stories ever created–and has only grown more relevant to our world over time. The new animated series will explore this universe in a way that has never been done before.”
