I think that idea of mixing up genres or playing with the levels of reality or the groundedness and things like that has always been really interesting to me. Parts of Elektra: Assassin look like photorealistic painting and part of it is scrawled in crayon and part of it has a piece of fabric glued to a poster board. That sense of mixed media and mixed reality was really appealing and I felt like I could get away with it on this movie.
