The good news that 2021 has needed – a third Paddington film is in production.

StudioCanal told Variety: “We can confirm Studiocanal is working very hard on film 3 with the utmost craft and care — as with film 1 and 2.” This comes on top of star Hugh Bonneville saying in an interview last week that there was “forward momentum” on the project.

Paul King, who directed the previous films, won’t be helming this one, as he’s working on the Wonka prequel for Warner Bros. but will still be involved.

Ben Whishaw is expected to return to voice Paddington, as he continues to do for the animated series.
