The fourth season of Stranger Things has been unavoidably delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but according to Finn Wolfhard, it’ll be worth the wait.

Talking to CBC, he noted, “Every season it gets darker. Really, I will say with Season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there’ll ever be, like the exploding rats and everything. But really, Season 4 so far, it’s the darkest season there’s ever been. Every year, it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder, and everything. Every year, they amp it up.”

This matches the promise the Duffer brothers made this time last year: “Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more.” Scripts were completed during the hiatus.
