Robert Rodriguez is on board with Skydance for a reboot of his Spy Kids franchise, according to a report at Deadline.

There are four films so far in the series about a family of spies, whose kids get into the business to save the parents, and at the time it inspired a number of similar movies – including the live action Thunderbirds from 2004 that was nicknamed Spy Kids 3-and-a-half.

Spyglass own the rights and will oversee the project. Rodriguez already has a sequel to We Can Be Heroes on his schedule, as well as the new Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett that is set firmly for release in December.
