Michael Apted, who helmed the 007 movie The World is Not Enough, has died aged 79.

Best known for his groundbreaking documentary series, 7-Up and its seven-yearly follow ups, Apted was also a renowned movie director. His other genre work included The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, on which he was reunited with composer David Arnold, as well as the 1967 TV series Haunted.
