The print of Alister Pearson’s artwork for the charity release Time’s Champion raised £325 when auctioned on eBay by the Doctor Who Appreciation Society.
According to Pearson, the bids jumped suddenly in the last few moments of the auction, which ended just before midnight on 30 December. The proceeds are going to St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital Trust, supported by Sixth Doctor Colin Baker.
Pearson told Sci-Fi Bulletin, “…well, obviously, I’m delighted with this result and would like to thank everyone who took an interest and placed a bid. It reinforces the view in my mind that, rather than churn out mass-produced prints for sale and personal profit, it’s better for me to do one-off or very limited items, make a ‘feature’ of them, so to speak, to benefit various good causes rather than my own bank account…”
