As we continue to count down towards the New Year, we’re looking back at the top posts of 2020 – and this one comes from before COVID-19 turned all our lives upside down.

Rumours were circulating that the lower ratings for Doctor Who’s Series 12 meant that there was some doubt at the BBC over its future.

Piers Wenger went on record to scotch them:

It will always be an important show for us and we’re a very long way from wanting to rest it.
