American writer and producer David Giler has died, aged 77.
He was credited on all the Alien films from the original in 1979 to Alien Covenant in 2017 as part of Brandywine Productions, the company he founded with Walter Hill and Gordon Carroll. He wrote the storyline for Aliens with James Cameron, and produced and co-wrote the script for Alien3
His other genre contributions included scripts for both The Man and The Girl From UNCLE as well as executive producing Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Cryptkeeper and Perversions of Science, as well as executive producing the Tales from the Crypt feature films.
