Disney+ has acquired the rights to Megan Whalen Turner’s The Thief, the first book in her YA fantasy series The Queen’s Thief.
Brian Duffield will be scripting the adaptation of the first of the six-book saga featuring Gen, aka Eugenides, a thief. When Gen is released from prison by a king’s magus, who then coerces him into a quest for a legendary object, the ensuing adventure thrusts him into the midst of political machinations, deception and danger. The first book was published in 1996, with the finale in 2019.
