Yaroslav Horak, who illustrated the James Bond newspaper strips for over a decade, has died aged 93.

Downthetubes reported his passing (click here for an overview of his entire career). Horak had been suffering from Alzheimer’s for many years.

He replaced John McCluskey as the artist on the Bond strip in 1966, for Jim Lawrence’s “adaptations” of the later Fleming stories (Lawrence added quite a bit of extra material), as well as Robert Markham’s Colonel Sun, and a host of original adventures for 007.
