Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

There’s a fresh take on Dracula’s nemesis, Abraham van Helsing, coming from Universal.

Deadline is reporting that Overlord director Julius Avery will be helming a new movie about the vampire hunter for James Wan’s Atomic Monster production company and Universal. After the success of the R-rated The Invisible Man earlier this year, an adult take on the character is feasible. Avery will rewrite Black Widow’s Eric Pearson’s original script.

The character had his own movie with Hugh Jackman playing the role back in 2004, and a Syfy TV series about his descendant has played for the last few seasons.
