The latest superhero to enter the CW’s Arrowverse may be Wonder Girl, according to reports at Deadline.
The site notes that Greg Berlanti and Queen of the South executive producer/co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez are working on an adaptation of the superhero created by Joëlle Jones, Yara Flor is a Latina Dreamer born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God, who learns that she is Wonder Girl. With her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world. She will become a new Wonder Woman, in the DC’s Future State release this January.
If this goes ahead, it’ll be the first Latina superhero headlining a DC TV series.
Yara Flor isn’t the first Wonder Girl – Donna Troy used that alias back in 1965, and it’s been used for the adventures of Wonder Woman as a youngster.
