To coincide with Series 2 of His Dark Materials currently airing on BBC One, the BBC has created an installation of a portal to another world on the streets of Oxford.
The 3D art installation featured Cittàgazze, one of the many worlds that viewers of the BBC One series will see this Autumn.
The location of the art was carefully chosen, as Oxford iserves as the connecting point for the series’ many worlds.
The 50m squared piece of art was created by world-renowned 3D artist Cuboliquido. It took over 300 painstaking hours to create and features 52 unique colours of paint.
Within the art there are several Easter Eggs that eagle-eyed fans will spot—from Mrs. Coulter and her daemon monkey to Will, Lyra and her daemon Pan, and shattered glass in The Tower of Angels.
Havas Media and Talon Creative Solutions created the 3D art installation in partnership with Global Street Art and Ambient.
The series continues on Sunday evenings; read our reviews here
