Indicator have released a beautifully restored version of the Christopher Lee Fu Manchu films – but neither they nor reviewer Nick joy ignore the difficulties inherent in watching them today:

If you’re happy to contextualise the movies within the time they were made, there’s much to enjoy here. There’s a very good extra included – Visions of the Yellow Peril (2020): Christopher Frayling on ethnocentrism in the Fu Manchu cycle.
