Sir Sean Connery, the original cinematic James Bond, has died aged 90
BBC News is reporting that his family have confirmed the news.
Connery played 007 in seven films – six official titles for EON from Dr No to Diamonds are Forever, and then for Irvin Kershner’s remake of Thunderball, Never Say Never Again. His career spanned decades, with early genre appearances including Darby O’Gill and the Little People before being cast as Bond.
He appeared in Zardoz, Meteor, Outland, Time Bandits, Highlander and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with his work in the 90s including Highlander II, First Knight, Dragonheart, The Rock and The Avengers.
One of his last roles was in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
