Eclipso and the Shade will be facing off against Stargirl for season 2 of the CW series, with Nick Tarabay (The Expanse) as regular character Eclipso and Jonathan Cake recurring as The Shade.

Ysa Penarejo has also joined the cast, but her role has yet to be revealed. Tarabay is no stranger to the Arrowverse having played Digger on Arrow.

“Eclipso is one of my very favourite villains in the books,” showrunner Geoff Johns told TVLine earlier this year, “and he’s somebody who in the comics actually killed Beth Chapel and Yolanda Montez — and they never came back, until recently. They were dead before I ever got into comics in the ’90s, but I brought them back at the end of Doomsday Clock. Eclipso is a really interesting character because he embodies darkness and corruption.”

Stargirl season 1 is currently on Amazon Prime; season 2 is set to arrive on the CW in 2021.
