Award winning Boom! Studios comic Lumberjanes is being adapted as an animated series for HBO Max.
She-Ra’s Noelle Stevenson – who co-created the comic book in 2014 with Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis and Brooklyn A. Allen – will be handling the new series which will begin with a special length episode.
April, Jo, Mal, Molly, and Ripley meet one fateful summer at a camp named Miss Quinzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thilstle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types. Their differences isn’t the only thing they have to canoe around as the girls soon discover there area mysterious and supernatural forces afoot.
A feature adaptation was planned at Fox, but dropped after the Disney takeover.
