Cobie Smulders and Jake Johnson won’t be returning for a second season of Stumptown after all.

ABC has elected not to go ahead with the previously commissioned sophomore year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, this is because executives were not happy with the proposed reworking of the show for its new run, and production had yet to begin – meaning new episodes wouldn’t be available until April 2021. COVID-19 restrictions and delays also played a part in delays.

Deadline is reporting that ABC Signature will be shopping the show elsewhere,
